Yadkin Center Expanded Offerings for Fall 2018

Surry Community College’s Yadkin Center is expanding its programming for Fall 2018. In addition to offering the full degree programs for Mechatronics Technology and the College Transfer Associate in Arts, the college is offering a certificate program in Computer-Integrated Machining, a diploma and certificate training in Welding Technology along with courses in Electrical Systems Technology, Business Administration and Nurse Aide. The college is also offering its Truck Driver Training, the High School Equivalency program and Firefighter Certifications at the Yadkin Center.
Schedule of Events
A line up of registration events are scheduled for the summer to get students prepared to begin classes this fall. Curriculum classes begin Aug. 15, and the deadline to register is Aug. 3.
- One-Stop Shop Registration Events are offered throughout the summer on the following dates: May 4, May 18, June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13, and July 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. During these registration events students can apply to college, get help with financial aid, talk to an advisor, and register for classes.
- A Community Appreciation Day will be held on Thursday, June 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. where students can do the same activities offered during the One-Stop shop Registration Events along with register for a scholarship drawing, take a campus tour, and visit with instructors. Some fun activities will also be offered for kids along with giveaways and food. Join our Facebook event page to learn more.
- An Open House for the G. Allen Mebane IV Industrial Training Center will take place on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. where you can tour the new facility that will house the college’s Mechatronics, Machining, Electrical Systems and Truck Driver Training programs.
