Scholars of Global Distinction
Students who complete the following requirements will be eligible to receive the Scholar of Global Distinction Designation which will be documented on their transcript. The Scholars of Global Distinction contact will assist students in planning and documenting that all requirements are met.
- Globally Intensive Courses: Completion of 15 credits with a grade of A or B.
- Intercultural Events: Attendance at eight intercultural/international “passport” events (ideally two per semester).
- Global Experience: Participation in 30 hours of global experience through travel abroad or domestic intercultural experience/service.
- Capstone Presentation: 10-15 minute capstone presentation related to the student’s participation in global learning opportunities.
The Scholars of Global Distinction is a program that is open to all students. Scholars complete 15 credits of globally intensive courses, attend eight Passport events, complete an immersion project, and deliver a capstone presentation. Participation in the program fosters increased global awareness and skills to compete in a globally diverse world.
