How do I change my contact information in the emergency notification system?
- Students:
At the beginning of each semester, you have the opportunity to update your contact information during registration. In addition, throughout the semester you may contact the Admissions Office in Student Development to provide updates. 336-386-3392 or Renita Hazelwood, hazelwoodr@surry.edu.
- Faculty / Staff:
Updates to contact information need to be made in the Human Resources Office. 336-386-3207 or Melonie Weathers, weathersm@surry.edu
- When you receive a call from SCC Alert, your caller ID will display “336-386-3535”. When you receive an SCC Alert text message, your caller ID will display “23177.” You may wish to save this number in your contact list as “SCC Alert.”
- For emails, the email ID will be from SCC Alert@surry.edu
- When listening to a message, please be aware that background noise will cause the system to “stop and start.” It is calibrated very delicately to determine whether a person or an answering machine has picked up the phone, and background noise may affect the delivery. If possible, move to a quiet area, or press the “mute” button on your phone.
- If you missed any part of the message, please stay on the line and press “*” (star) to hear the message again.
