Surry Community College will offer a General Contractor Prep class beginning February 7 and ending March 29. The class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in room J-103 on the Dobson campus. Gary Hayes will be the instructor.
This course will prepare persons with knowledge and experience in construction for the General Contractor’s Residential licensing exam with a detailed review of the NC Residential Building Code for one and two family dwellings. Emphasis will be placed on the types of questions found in the blueprint section of the residential building exam given by the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors, laws and regulations applicable to general contractors, and the NC Accessibility Code.Â
