FREE computer workshop offered by Surry Community College's Distance Education Division.
Open to community members as well as current students, who are Early Childhood Educators or Childcare Workers in Surry or Yadkin counties. The Department of Childhood Development (DCD) has approved offering one hour of training credit for childcare providers who complete this workshop.
The workshop will be held on three separate days; attend any one of the workshops listed below:
- Tuesday, November 17th 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in room E146
- Wednesday, November 18th 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in room E113
- Thursday, November 19th 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in room E132
The workshop will address very basic computer skills and how to produce and save word documents to help those in the Early Childhood areas.
The following basic PC literacy skills will be covered:
- Basic functions of the Keyboard, CPU, Monitor and Mouse
- Saving Documents
- Printing Documents
- Surfing the Internet
- Surfing SCC Website
- Using Knight Life
- Using GroupWise Account for email communication
