Garden Tips with Charles Boles

Garden Tips with Charles Boles is the first originally produced program to air on SCC-TV.  Mr. Boles, who is the Horticulture instructor at Surry Community College, provides useful information on gardening.  Topics include:  Spring Garden, Planting Vegetables, In House Plants, Fruit Trees, Rubber Trees, Fall Garden, Landscape, Waterfalls, and a variety of other programs.  In these programs, you will learn step by step procedures for your project and you can also follow along any of the projects used for the show and its production.  Mr. Boles will answer your questions and welcome any opportunity he has to provide assistance to you.  Garden Tips with Charles Boles can be seen daily at 11:00am and 11:00pm.

Construction Technology with Lynn Templeton

Construction Technology is in its third full season on SCC-TV.  The program started out with simple projects conducted by its host Lynn Templeton.  In the three year period, Construction Technology on SCC-TV has increased its productions to the completion of a Habitat for Humanity home.  SCC-TV follows the journey from the pouring of the footings to the final inspections.  Mr. Templeton incorporates the “How To” side of measuring blocks, measuring concrete, measuring brick, and many other aspects of construction that go into the building of these homes for Habitat for Humanity.  You will see first hand how the students are taught and the duties they are handed on the job site.  Construction Technology has grown into one of the most watched and most requested programs offered by Surry Community College Television.  Construction Technology can be seen daily at 9:00am and 9:00pm on SCC-TV.

Surry County History with Marion Venable

Marion Venable hosts Surry County History on SCC-TV.  Surry County History is a program focusing on local historical sites.  Venable has been involved in local history for more than 30 years, and with her knowledge she provides insight of the historical sites around the county.  Programs have featured sites such as Rockford, Kapps Mill, Cemetary History, Isaac Copeland home place, Iron Foundries, and many other local historical sites.  Venable has recently expanded her history background and television offerings to include Yadkin County.  Surry County History can be seen on a rotating basis with other programs in the weekly schedule on SCC-TV.

In the Dugout

In the Dugout on SCC-TV is a weekly show updating the Surry Community College Knight Baseball Team.  Mark Tucker, Head Baseball Coach, joins host Josh Nixon as the two follow the success of the Knights during the spring campaign.  This weekly show highlights the previous week’s action and looks forward to the coming week as well.  In the Dugout will provide player interviews, game footage, interviews with coaches, Scout Day, and interviews with local Major League Scouts.  In the Dugout can be seen during the spring season at 2:30am and 2:30pm on SCC-TV.

Transfer Today

Transfer Today is a show hosted by Surry Community College Transfer Advisor Scott Wilson.  Transfer Today features students who are enrolled at Surry Community College with plans to transfer to other colleges or universities.  Mr. Wilson shows the ins and outs of transferring from Surry Community College, and with guest testimonials, Transfer Today allows its viewers a first hand experience of attending Surry Community College with plans to transfer to other colleges or universities.  Transfer Today can be seen on a rotating basis with other programs on a weekly basis on SCC-TV.
