How to Submit an Assignment in Moodle

Submitting a File

  1. If your professor has asked you to submit an assignment such as a writing assignment, you will see at the bottom of the assignment description an area to upload a file. First click Browse.

    Click Browse

  2. Once you have selected the file you would like to submit, click Upload this file.
  3. Click upload this file

  4. At this point, you can see the file name of what you've submitted.
  5. Submission Draft

  6. You have two choices: You can change your mind and delete your submission by clicking the small red X next to the file name, followed by confirming it.
  7. Click Yes to delete your submission

  8. OR you can click Send for marking to send in your assignment to your professor.
  9. Click Send for marking

  10. You will then be told "Once the assignment is sent for marking, you will no longer be able to delete or attach file(s)." Click Yes to continue.
  11. Final Submission

  12. Now that you've sent in your assignment for marking, the submission area below the assignment description should have a link to your file and the statement "Assignment was already submitted for marking and can not be updated."

  13. After your instructor has evaluated your work, he or she will send that evaluation to your Grades. To view your grade, click the Grades link under Administration.
  14. Click Grades

  15. Your grades will be divided by category and within each row will be the assignment, your grade for the assignment, the range, percentage, and feedback from your professor.

    Grade and feedback

  16. Another way to check your grade is by clicking Assignments in the left column.
