  • Course Description: I have reviewed the course description in the course syllabus, and I can summarize the major content and goals of the course.

  • Course Information and Objectives: I have read the specific course requirements and course goals and understand what is expected of me in the course.

  • Grading Policy: I have reviewed the grading policy and understand how my work will be evaluated for different types of assignments.

  • Course Completion, Drop or Withdrawal: I understand that I have the option of dropping a course during the college’s drop/add period without penalty, but that if I continue after that point I can only withdrawal (W) with the instructor’s permission.

Part 2: Assignments

  • Types of Assignments: I have reviewed the "Assignments" area of the course and understand the types of learning activities that I will engage in throughout the course.

  • Assignment Schedule: I have reviewed the due dates for the major assignments in the course and have developed a plan to make sure that I can complete my assignments according to my instructor's expectations.

  • Quizzes/Exams: I understand the types of tests that I will take during the course and have included the due dates in my schedule for the semester.

Part 3: Communication with Instructor and Classmates

  • Email Address: I understand that I am required to use my SCC web-based email account to communicate with my instructor and classmates.  I understand that I need to check my email service so that I am not blocking messages sent from my course.

  • Email Check: I have sent an email to my instructor and received confirmation from my instructor that the email was received.  I have sent a message to myself from the "Communication" area of the course to determine that I am able to receive messages.

  • Announcements: I have read the announcement on the home page of the course. I scroll down the Announcements page each time I enter the course to make sure that I have read all new announcements.

Part 4: Discussion Board

  • Enrollment Verification Assignment: I have checked the Discussion Board on the first day of my class and have completed the Enrollment Verification forum. I understand that this serves as my verification for starting the course and that I may be dropped from the course if I do not complete this forum for each Internet course I am taking.

  • Interaction and Participation: I plan to complete each Discussion Board assignment throughout the course in a timely manner and participate with other members of the class in discussion assignments as directed by my instructor in the Course Syllabus and Assignments areas of the course.

Part 5: Tests and Other Assessments

Taking Online Tests:  I have read Taking Online Tests Successfully and understand the steps I should follow before, during, and after the test.

Checking My Grade: I have read How to Check Your Grades to understand how to check my grades through the "Tools" section of the course.

Part 6: Use of Technology

Browser Update: I have checked my version of Internet Explorer to make sure that I am using the latest version. If I am using another Internet browser, I have made sure that it is compatible with Moodle. Check your version of Internet Explorer and download the latest version.

Allow Cookies: I understand that I must "allow cookies" in my Internet browser to be able to use Moodle and to take online tests and participate in Discussion Board activities.

Word Processing: I understand that if I do not write and save my documents in Microsoft Word XP or newer version, I must contact my instructor to make arrangements.

Use of Resources: I know how to download and install any plug-ins that I may need to use online video or audio files.
