Moodle users who are using Internet Explorer 7 may experience problems in some assignments. Many users have been able to correct this problem by adding Surry Community College's Moodle to their list of Trusted Sites and setting the browser scripting to allow Allow Status Bar Updates via Script. Follow the steps below to add SCC's Moodle to your list of Trusted Sites and setting your browser to Allow Status Bar Updates via Scripts. Add SCC's Moodle as a Trusted Site: |
- Go to the Moodle login page. From the Internet Explorer 7 menu, click Tools, then Internet Options.

- Click the Security tab and then click on the Trusted Sites icon. Click Sites to open the Trusted Sites box.

- The URL for SCC's Moodle should appear in the " Add this website to the zone" textbox. If not, enter http://online.surry.edu in the textbox then click Add. This will move the URL down to the website's box.
Note: Make sure that box beside " Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" does notnot checked. |

- If the site was added correctly then the Moodle site should display under Websites.
- Choose Close and then OK.
Close the Internet Explorer window and reopen to the Moodle website |

Set the browser scripting to Allow Status Bar Updates via Script |
- Open the Moodle login page and in Internet Explorer 7, choose Tools and select Internet Options

- Go to the Security Tab and click the Internet zone. Then select Custom level.

- Scroll down to Scripting. Enable "Allow status bar updates via script". Select OK.
|

- You may receive a Warning. Please select Yes.
- Close the Internet Explorer window and reopen to the Moodle website.
