Surry Community College does not issue the I-20 student VISA to international or foreign individuals. Also, effective May 6, 2008, Surry Community College will not admit undocumented or illegal aliens unless they meet the exceptions listed in Federal Law 8 USC Section 1641. These exceptions include high school level students enrolled concurrently or in a Huskins Bill course, and individuals enrolled in continuing education courses less than college level. Note: This admissions policy complies with current state interpretation of federal law and is subject to change based on further guidance issued at the state and/or federal level.

4. Surry Community College requires all students, including Huskins Bill, dually enrolled, and Learn and Earn online, to follow course pre-requisites as outlined by the North Carolina Community College System. Waiver from a pre-requisite can only be approved by the division chairperson of the course in question.

Nursing applicants are required to take the TEAS once a year (twelve months) at the site of their choice. Study guides and online practice tests for the TEAS may be purchased online at www.atitesting.com.

The course introduces the fundamental elements of the Chinese language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading and writing sklls. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Chinese and demonstrate awareness. This course has been approved to satisfy Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in humanities/fine arts.

This course provides an opportunity to enhance aquisition of the fundamentals of the Chinese language. Emphasis is place on the progressive development of basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through the use of various supplementary learning media and materials. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Chinese and demonstrate cultural awareness. This course has been approved to satisfy the cComprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferrability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

This course is a labratory for MAT 140. Emphasis is placed on experiences that enhance the materials presented in the clas. Upon completion, students should be able to solve problems, apply critical thinking, work in teams, an communicate effectively. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability to a preajor and/or elective course requirement.
