The 1098T Tax Forms are now available for students through their KnightLife Account only. There will not be any forms sent or mailed out of the business office. Students can print this form at any lab here on campus or the library, etc. Please note these forms show the amount of tuition and fees the student was billed for in the year of 2011, not the amount paid.

The Student Financial Aid Program is designed to assist deserving students in meeting the costs of attending Surry Community College. Financial assistance includes several types of aid: grants, scholarships, and student employment. Financial aid awards may include one or more of these. Only students who have been accepted for admission will be offered financial assistance. An enrolled student must reapply in order to receive aid during the second year of attendance.

Anyone interested in financial aid information may contact the Financial Aid Office which is located in Student Development. Application packets are available which explain the opportunities and responsibilities in more detail. All financial assistance is awarded without regard to the student’s race, religion, national origin, age, sex, or disability.

Surry Community College requires satisfactory academic progress of all students receiving financial aid. Refer to the link on the lefthand side of the page or refer to the current college catalog for details of the requirements for financial aid. You may also visit the Financial Aid Office located in the Reeves Building on campus for hard copies of documents or additional information. (A copy of the current college catalog is available on the college home page.)

Withdrawal from classes after aid is accessed can result in repayment of aid to school. See college catalog on proper withdrawal procedures to follow. The amount of Title IV aid that must be returned to the school is based on the total amount of aid received and how long the student attended classes. Sample repayment calculations are available from the aid office. Students who maintain class attendance through the 60% date of each semester will not owe a repayment of aid (see the 'Apply for Financial Aid' page for detailed instructions and 60% dates for the upcoming terms).

Students who cannot meet financial aid deadlines or do not qualify for financial aid may use the E-Cashier tuition payment plan.

Financial Aid deadlines are as follows:

Fall Semester --May 1
Spring Semester --October 1
Summer Semester --February 1

By the deadline, the aid applicant must have:

  1. Completed all Admissions requirements.
  2. Completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
  3. Provided any supporting documentation as requested by the federal government or the aid office.
