Surry Community College Offers TEAS Test February 15
The TEAS Test for Saturday, February 15 has been rescheduled to next Saturday, February 22 at the same time due to the potential of inclement weather.
Dobson, NC – Surry Community College is holding the TEAS Test on Feb. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the E-Building on the Dobson campus.
The Test of Essential Academic Skills or TEAS Test is required to qualify for admission into the Associate Degree Nursing and the Physical Therapist Assistant programs for Fall 2014 at SCC.
To register for the TEAS test, please see Yvonne Johnson in H-315 with a photo ID. The cost of the test is $40, which can be paid with cash or a check written to Surry Community College. Exact change is requested if you are paying with cash. Registration for the test must occur before Feb. 14 at noon.
Students earning the Associate Degree in Nursing at SCC are eligible to sit for the examination leading to licensure as a registered nurse. These students then have the credentials to practice nursing anywhere in the world. This degree also serves as a pathway for students to earn the baccalaureate degree with many of the classes for that degree already earned.
SCC’s Physical Therapist Assistant curriculum prepares graduates to work in direct patient care settings under the supervision of physical therapists. Assistants work to improve or restore function by alleviation or prevention of physical impairment and perform other essential activities in a physical therapy department.
Physical Therapy graduates may be eligible to take the licensure examination administered by the NC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Employment is available in general hospitals, rehabilitation centers, extended care facilities, specialty hospitals, home health agencies, private clinics, and public school systems.
