Auto, Motorcycle and Farm Mechanic Class
Surry Community College will offer an Auto, Motorcycle and Farm Mechanic class beginning August 6 and ending December 19. This course covers the basics of automotive, motorcycle/ATV, farm and commercial machinery mechanics.
Students will troubleshoot, practice routine maintenance and servicing, disassemble engines or machinery, check for manufacturer’s specifications, make adjustments and repairs, and reassemble. Students may bring their own machines to work on or the instructor will help locate equipment in need of repair.
No textbook is required; however, repair manuals for the particular machines are recommended. The instructor is Steven Liles.
The class will meet on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Dobson campus in the V building, room 113. Tuition is $178. North Carolina residents age 65 and older will only pay $3. Registration and payment of tuition are required prior to the first day of class.
