Taxidermy Year-Round Class
This one year hands-on program covers two of the four major topics of Deer and other game heads, Fish, Birds, and Life-size mounts each six months. These courses are appropriate for anyone interested in learning the art of taxidermy or for those wanting to improve their techniques. Included throughout each topic is instruction on habitat, casting, operating a taxidermy business, state and federal game laws, how to make specialized tools, and much more. Students may enter at the beginning of either class and may choose between evening or Saturday classes. Classes are taught at the Workforce Development Center in Mount Airy.
The 2012 classes are Deer Heads/Game Heads with Birds/Waterfowl (January-June) and Fish with Lifesize and Small Mammals (August-December).
