Express yourself through a variety of artistic mediums:
Decorative Acrylic Painting
This course teaches techniques and tools needed to achieve different applications in acrylic painting. Several pieces will be completed on different surfaces. Students are introduced to supplies and caring for brushes, to tracing and transferring of patterns to surface, and to protecting finished pieces. Class is offered on the Dobson campus.
Oil Painting
Students are introduced to art materials and supplies and given individual instruction to start an oil painting. Students learn to care for art supplies, to mix oil paint colors, and to layer colors. Classes are taught in Pilot Mountain.
Stained Glass
Using a template, students will create stained glass projects. Techniques of cutting, grinding, and soldering glass will be covered. Class is offered in Mount Airy.
Mosaics
Using stained glass and other objects, such as rocks, students will create projects ranging from beginner's level to more advanced. Class is taught at the Workforce Development Center in Mount Airy.
