What is Career Readiness Certification?

This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. The curriculum framework is based on a specific job goal. Students will take the KeyTrain pre-tests, and then will work on the online skill-building lessons to prepare for success in taking the WorkKeys assessments in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information. Students who score high enough on the WorkKeys assessment will have an opportunity to obtain a Bronze, Silver, or Gold CRC Certification. Career skills will be addressed utilizing the KeyTrain Career Skills curriculum.

What is WorkKeys?

WorkKeys is a standardized assessment recognized by ACT that evaluates an individual's skills in many subject areas such as: Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information. Studies have shown that these skills are essential to most jobs. Also individuals who have earned a CRC tend to perform better than individuals who have not earned a certificate. For many reason, many employers are starting to require a CRC for hiring purposes either before an interview will be offered or before the individual is placed into a position.

WorkKeys Schedule

CRC Total Cost:  $31 (Other assessments range from $10-$20) Pre-registration required.  Scholarships are available for the testing fee.
