Grading and CEU's
Students in Continuing Education courses earn grades according to the following criteria:
“S” – Satisfactory – The student has attended at least 80% of the course and met all other course requirements.
“U” – Unsatisfactory – The student has attended less than 80% of the class time and/or has not met other class requirements.
“W” – Withdrew – The student has withdrawn from the course and received a refund for tuition paid.
Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are awarded by the college (one CEU for ten contact hours of class work) to students who complete all course requirements for non-credit courses above the secondary school level. CEU records are maintained by the Continuing Education Division. Transcripts of individual records are available upon written request.
Beginning September 4, 2007 Surry Community College will be charging $3.00 for each official transcript.
